Dr Ross Gurgo is a specialist neurosurgeon who manages all conditions of the brain and spine. Born in Queensland, he continues to be one of the state's most trusted and recognised neurosurgeons. His main area of surgical interest is management of complex disorders of the spine. He also has a strong interest in medicolegal work and has CIME (ABIME) accreditation, is an accredited WorkCover Qld (GEPI) & Comcare PI Assessor & has SIRA (NSW) and TAC (Vic) accreditation.
National and International Experience
Dr Gurgo completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Queensland and undertook neurosurgical training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney (FRACS). He is a member of the Australian Medical Association, Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Medicolegal Society of Queensland.
Before returning to Brisbane in 2005, Dr Gurgo undertook advanced training in complex spinal surgery in Toronto, Canada in one of the largest spinal units in North America (AOSpine accredited). He was then appointed a Visiting Medical Officer, Specialist Neurosurgeon, at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, and at the same time maintained a full-time private practice. He is currently in full time private surgical and medicolegal practice.
